Touch of India

This page started off with nothing in mind at all, but as it went along and I am reading The Kashmir Shawl, it was leading into a certain direction and I am letting it go where it takes me.

African Inspired Journal Page

Why would you want to write on a page like this, well why wouldn't you. I will share at some time in the future what this page will look like when I have done some journaling on it.

Eezy Peezy Backgrounds

At the moment I am busy with a whole lot of backgrounds for journal lovers and I had been using this paper underneath some other work I was busy with, so I decided to see what I could do with it. When I started to paint around the flower area's it started to look like a Paisley design so now I will work on it further and see where it takes me. Clearly India and Paisley shawls are on my mind subconsciously. I will post the finished background when I get around to finishing it off properly... this is just the beginning.

The Kashmir Shawl - Inspiration

I't really is amazing how the subconscious works. Recently I was watching the British program Who Do You Think You Are and on this particular program it was about the grandparents of the BeeGee's. Apparently their great grandfather was a weaver in India, making the most beautiful Paisley shawls. But at the time they also started making machines that could do the job quicker, thereby forceing many craftsmen out of business. I found the whole story fascinating as my own grandparents lived in India and my mother was born there.

I was in the mood to buy some new books to read and didn't particularly have any authors or titles in mind. The shop owner suggested I read this book and also a book called The Language Of Flowers. Little did I know that this story was going to hold secrets about India.

Digital Scrapping

These are two digital scrapbooking pages that I made in PS using the sample backgrounds. I am not a scrapper normally so this was a whole lot of fun. When you order the backgrounds you will get a high res copy that you can either use in PS or you can print them out to use over and over again.

Journal Page

Make a background on card stock I always us cartridge paper then I cut the little palm tree flowers out and glued them onto another background. First I wrote in a white pen for some texture and then added the quote.

If you have a look on the left hand side of my blog you will find many of the blogs I have been following for years. Every artist has their own unique way of working and the tips they share are amazing. You will return time and again to absorb all the information they so generously share with everyone. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have and will continue to do so.

Whole new experience

If you know me :o)... then you will know that I have been journaling for ever. It isn't always easy trying to find the right journal and when you do... those big white pages staring back at you can be a really horrifying experience. I have been decorating pages for a long time and I have enjoyed the artwork from a lot of other peoples journals as well.
I started making my own journals about 8 years ago and just the other day I came  up with an idea, and that was to market and share some of the ideas I have experimented with over the years. Please do not use my work for any publishing or reproducing, without my consent, which I am sure I would give pretty easily, so be nice and ask. I don't bite.
I will be adding a Pay Pal button soon so if you would like to order an Eezy Peezy pack you will be able to do so and I will ship it off ASAP. If you already journal thats great, but sharing ideas is good for all artists.
I will be sharing other artists as well and links to their websites.
